FAQ

How do I donate bikes?
You can leave them at any time 24/7 either in the bike racks at our Flower Fields St. James location (middle of building 8), or behind the building at our Manorville location.

Will you take my rusty Puegot bike from 1973?
Yes. Worst case, we’ll use what parts we can and recycle the rest. We accept everything that is still recognizably a bike, and parts too.

Can you pick up a bike that I have to donate?
Thank you for your generosity, but no. We don’t have the bandwidth, and have experienced some unsafe situations.

How do I volunteer?
Just show up, and we’ll go from there. No experience necessary. Best times are at St. James; Wed,Thurs 6-8 pm, Sat. 11-2. Manorville, Fridays 4-6.

What am I expected to do as a volunteer?
Be respectful and don’t abuse the coop. Everything else is up to you. Generally, we all work on bikes and help customers. If you ever feel like you’d want to branch out or start a special project, let us know. We are always open to that kind of stuff.

If you’re giving bikes away freely, who pays for all of this?
We are generously supported by grants from a private foundation and by donors like you. Thanks!
